For an idea of what you will experience on your safari, below is your basic Kruger Park Safari itinerary. However to always keep in mind we are a private operator, specializing in one of kind safari trips. Giving you the opportunity to tailor make your own Kruger Park Safari itinerary as per your own specific requirements.
Day 1 – Arrival Day
Day one starts in Johannesburg at the airport or your accommodation, where we shall pick you up and transport you to your home away from home for the next few days, the world renowned Kruger National park. Once you are successfully booked into your accommodation you will embark on your first taste of the African bush, your game drive. The length of the drive will depend on what time we manage to leave the airport and how tired you, the weary traveller are.
Day 2 – Full Day Safari
Dawn – Wake up for your first game drive of the day
With excitement in the pit of your stomach for what the day ahead holds, wake up before sunrise to get a head start on things. Peeling yourself out of bed might be a challenge momentarily, but right outside the comfort of your accommodation the bush is alive with nocturnal animals that are still active and the other animals which make use of the cool of the morning to move to the watering holes. What better way to start the day than including Lion or Leopard to your Kruger Park Safari bucket list.
08:00 AM – Mid Morning snack
Having witnessed the wildlife fortunate enough to grace their own waterholes, the early morning start has undoubtedly stirred up a similar thirst in you. After a few hours of game viewing, your guide will find a beautiful spot to stop where you are able to satisfy your own needs with some hot coffee/tea and delectable biscuits(South African rusk). There is no better way to experience such than in an environment riddled with life.
10:00 AM – Breakfast/ At Leisure
Move along before stopping for breakfast which is prepared outdoors at a picnic site. The rest of the day is at your leisure with no responsibilities other than relaxing by the pool during the heat of the day or under the garden trees as you identify the many incredible birds found here. With magnificent views of the surrounding bushveld, you shall not be short of the very many reasons that the outdoors is a continuous and ever changing work of art.
15:00 PM – Afternoon Game Drive/ Sundowners and Snacks
It is time to set off on your afternoon game drive, which comprises of the sunset, an open game drive vehicle and the Kruger Park guides. As darkness comes rolling in swop the natural light of the sun for the vehicles spotlights and the chance to see nocturnal creatures in their own habitat. This is your chance to spot those illusive night time animals you have missed during the day such as Bush Babies, Genet Cat and Hyena.
19: 00 PM – Dinner
Return to camp to freshen up before meeting around the campfire to share your stories of the day. Have a delicious supper, again prepared by your guide in true South African style, on sizzling coals under the backdrop of an array of African stars.
20:00 PM – Fence Walk
There is no better way than to end off your adventure filled day, than the way you started it, surrounded by untouched nature. At this stage your Kruger Park Safari tick list would be rather lengthy and for the items that are still missing, make full use of your experienced guide and the knowledge that they possess in order to complete it. Return to camp and head to bed with a nightcap of Amurula (South African Fruit) Cream liqueur on ice, ready for another day of exploration that tomorrow shall bring.
Day 3 – Full Day Safari & Camp Change
Dawn – The day starts
Head out on another early drive after your standard coffee kick start. Your guide will use his superior skill to ‘hunt’ down those animals that you may not have had a chance to tick off yet.
08:00 AM – Breakfast snacks & check out
This time however you will return to camp for your breakfast snacks and to pack up as you will change camps today. We like to move camps for various reasons, change of scenery, different wildlife and habitats mainly. You are still on game drive as you go and the ever changing African bush is full of anticipation. Hopefully the big 5 is safely captured in your memories and on your bucket list, leaving room for creatures such as the endangered Wild Dog and Cheetah, what a bonus.
10:00 AM – Rest and refuel
Stop at a picnic spot along the way for another legendary breakfast in the bush!
14: 00 PM – Check in
Check into your new camp, freshen up and put your feet up whilst we wait for things to cool down. Head out for afternoon drive and explore the new area. Snacks will be served along the way, cheese and biscuits and not to be missed; traditional South Africa biltong.
19: 00 PM – Dinner
It’s time to make your way back towards camp as the sun seeps over the endless plains of vegetation. You don’t get much better than a sunset in the African Bushveld and the sounds and sights of the animals settling down for the night. Supper will once again be served under the sparkling night’s sky.
Day 4 – Departure day
04: 30 AM – Rise and shine
We rise a bit earlier this morning as you will take a game drive with the park guides in an open vehicle. The morning drive leaves before gate opening, when the human traffic is low and the animal traffic high. Return to camp to have breakfast and proceed to check out.
10: 00 AM – Home time
Driving through the park as we head to the exit gate to make our way back to Johannesburg, gives us that last chance at a glimpse of something special.
