As usual we picked up the guests from their accommodation in Durban and left for our overnight safari tour to the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve. Their safari travel package included a one night stay at Hilltop camp and so our African safari began.
First was a stop at the Cheetah rehabilitation center, Emdomeni. Here we learnt all about Africa’s wild cats, but the highlight being the interaction with the cheetah cubs.
Then it was onto the Hluhluwe Game Reserve and for our exciting safari. We were extremely lucky once again and got to see most of the animals on offer including some of the Big 5. After checking in at Hilltop we had a sunset drive, with great sightings of rhino and buffalo as well as giraffe. Dinner back at camp was a African style braai, all in all a great day.
The following day we left early on our quest to see even more African wildlife on our safari game drive and we were not dissapointed. After seeing rhino at sunrise in the road, followed by elephant and buffalo in the road as well, we were feeling lucky. After check out we were on our way out when we got the cherry on top. 3 male ellies, right next to the road, play wrestling and having a mud bath. I even got a great video of it below:
